Emerson said, “Nothing great is ever achieved without enthusiasm.” I see enthusiasm as the critical trait, component, and ingredient in the personality of successful people. Enthusiasm is the gas that drives your engine on your journey towards SEEKING EXCELLENCE. With enthusiasm you will forever have the chance to succeed; without it, you have failed before you ever started. Some people show it differently than others, but that doesn’t mean it is any less powerful or they are any less committed.

The Disappointment of LESS

None of us like to be disappointed, but if we are alive, then we will always be dealing with some sort of personal disappointment. Today, I want to address the business side of disappointment and ask you, “How do you deal with companies that disappoint you?” My answer is simple: I take my business somewhere else. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

No books have been written on surviving a pandemic of this magnitude. Many companies today are facing considerable difficulties, some even bankruptcy. I don’t want anyone to doubt their skills, talent, knowledge or leadership ability because of a disaster they didn’t cause. When the coronavirus pandemic erupted, COMPANIES HAD TO CHANGE. For most companies, business-as-usual for serving customers, working with suppliers, collaborating with colleagues, or getting anything done—had to be done differently and the changes had to be made immediately. Accelerating the scope and scale of innovation was a must. The speed of decision making took on a whole new meaning.

A Better Version of You

Would you believe that there is an organization in America today that lists 90 traits, characteristics, and soft-skills they want their employees to have? Well, there is. My first thought when I saw the list was … these folks are nuts! But, after reviewing the list, I changed my mind. All of them are doable and warrant our attention. Success is all about constantly becoming a better version of ourselves. But, what do we have to go by? How do we grade ourselves?
